Squash Court Booking Rules
- Members can book courts 8 days prior from 7 am. In other words, a new "booking sheet" is automatically added to the system at 8 days prior at 7 am.
- Maximum 4 "live" Peak bookings per member. In other words, a member with 4 forward Peak bookings can only book another court after the next Peak booking but not before.
- Members should select their opponent's name to show on the booking sheets.
- We would encourage you to book courts at all times to enable the section to monitor court usage and to enable us to only heat courts when they are likely to be used.
- To minimise court heating costs for the club we would prefer you to always book court 5 first.
- Annual playing subscriptions are due on 1st October.
- The cut-off date for subscriptions is 31st November.
- After that date non-payers will have access to the booking system inactivated until such time as their subscription is paid
- Peak times are weekdays from 4.45pm onwards, and Saturday from 4pm onwards. All other times are Off-Peak.
- Booking fee: £0 at all times.
- Cancellation policy:
- When unable to use a reserved court, members should cancel as soon as possible so that the court may be used by other members.
- No charge more than 48 hours prior
- Within 48 hours:
- No charge on the first 3 occasions.
- £1.60 "late-cancellation" fee at peak times only.
- The late-cancellation fee is automatically refunded if the same court is rebooked.
- Check-in / No-Show policy
Peak times only:
- (check-in not required at off-peak times).
- The member who booked the court is required to check-in to confirm court usage within 60 minutes prior to start time (or up to 2 hours after playing).
- Nominated playing partners/opponents may also check-in on behalf of the member who booked the court.
- The system assumes a "no-show" if the member who booked the court fails to check-in.
- On the first 2 occasions, there is no charge for the "no-show".
- On subsequent occasions, the system will automatically charge a £1.60 no-show penalty to the member's booking system account.
- On each occasion, the system sends an email notification at 10am on the day following the no-show with instructions on how to check-in the next time.
- Members with outstanding late-cancellation or no-show charges must purchase a £5 top-up vouchers from the bar, and apply the voucher to their booking system accounts by using either the "kiosk" system or when logged-in to the website.
- Please note you will need to know your system PIN to use the "kiosk" system at the club. You can look-up your PIN when logged into the website, or use the Forgotten Password process.
- Visitors (Guests) and Social Members
- Visitors and House Members may play squash or racketball only three times (either sport) per year.
- After three visits the Visitor or House member will be required to obtain a Sport membership from the Northern Club - email
- When playing a guest (non-member), members must select "*** VISITOR/GUEST ***" as the opponent to show on the booking sheet.
- Squash & Racketball Committee
- The Squash & Racketball Committee are entitled to block book courts for team matches, Competitions and other events without prior notice.
- The committee reserve the right to review and amend the court booking rules as necessary.
